Retirement of public officers

  1. The officer due for retirement should inquire the officer in charge of personal files weather his/ her personal file has any deficiencies.
  2. The completed application for retirement should be forwarded with 03 copies to get the approval for retirement.
  3. Part i of the form “a” to obtain a pension number should be filled with 06 copies and one copy has to be sent to the Director General of the Pensions Department by registered post personally prior to 03 months from the date of retirement and the remaining 05 copies should be handed over to the Head of the Institution.

The Head of the Institution would prepared the Part ii of the form “a” (calculate the gratuity) and would send it along with Part i of “a” to the Director General of Pensions by registered post.

  • After receiving the pension number and the gratuity, the pension file should be sent to the Divisional Secretariat along with relevant documents to prepared the pension and the gratuity should be paid to the pensioner after reducing relevant reductions.

Following qualifications should be fulfilled to entitle for a pension.

  • Should be a permanent and pensionable post.
  • Should have been confirmed in the post.
  • The period of service should be at least 10 years.
